Introducing our friend Debbie!  Strong, quiet and determined to achieve her goals, Debbie has worked very hard..especially as of late.  She has put herself out there in that uncomfortable zone…the open, Festivus and most recently the Spring Fling with hubby Adrian.  Debbie has shown tremendous commitment to her training and is certainly not afraid of hard work.

Not sure what is on the menu in the McMillan household, but Deb has displayed some significant and very impressive strength gains over the last few months.  Squatting and deadlifts bring a huge grin to Deb’s face as does olympic lifting.

Besides all the above awesomeness, Debbie is just plain fun to have at the gym and can always be counted on to chime in on the good spirited chirps and has alot of fun in the gym and at our many apres WOD chow downs.

What do you do for a living?  

I am a Supervisor at Invesco.  I service the US side of the business and deal with client’s mutual fund and retirement account.

How did you get involved in CrossFit and how long have you been CrossFitting?

Adrian dragged me in for my first session.  He knew that I like to throw weight around but walking in the building after a WOD just finishing and seeing everyone collapsed on the floor was a little nerve wrecking J  this is my 1 year anniversary with Crossfit and have loved every minute of it.  Even the times that I had to walk down the stairs backwards.

What are some of your goals in doing CrossFit?

My main goal is to become fit.  Other goals is to get pullups and toes to bar.  One of these days it will happens and everyone in Charlottetown will probably hear me when it does.

Biggest challenges and rewards of coming to the gym?

Challenge – fighting through the hard WOD and not giving up

Reward – completing a hard WOD and feeling great about it

Favorite workout or movement?

Anything where I can get a barbell in my hands – back squats and deadlifts are my favorite out of all of them

Least favorite workout or movement?

Workout – anything that involves running

Movement – running

Favorite music/song to CF to?

anything as long as it is not country music (sorry country fans) but once the WOD starts I tune everything out

Anything else you would like to add?

The best part about Crossfit is the family that I have become a part of.  Everyone is so supportive and no matter how hard the WOD can be there is always laughs to be had.
